I am a child therapist with over 20 years of experience of working with children of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. I am a qualified practitioner of Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) and therapist for Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, ADHD and lower spectrum). Very often child can have more than one of these difficulties.
DYSLEXIA can cause problems with reading, writing and spelling, as well as sequenced thinking. I use games and often make custom made materials for each child where appropriate.
Mimi is an extraordinary Dyslexic Specialist who builds an excellent rapport with her students and caters to all needs. I have worked with her for several years and would not hesitate to recommend her to parents. Under her tuition, I see children bloom in confidence both in their academics and in themselves. Mimi understands that all children are unique and will use bespoke materials that will motivate each of her students. I look forward to working with Mimi for many years to come. TE, SENDCo
DYSPRAXIA is a difficulty affecting movement and coordination. Having worked for many years hand in hand with Occupational Therapists I learned many activities to help the child with this difficulty.
DYSCALCULIA is related to recognition of numbers, quantities and different representation of number. Playing games (cards, dice, etc) often helps.
ADHD is a condition whose common symptoms include a short attention span being easily distracted or combination of both. Working on one-to-one basis is very helpful, as well as the use of fidget toys and taking active breaks.
“As a teacher I was concerned about the gap in L’s learning. As much as I tried, I could not get her to focus for long enough to make a difference. It was at this point L’s started sessions with Mimi and what a difference she made. L’s gap not only closed, but she overtook many other students. L enjoys reading and is managing much better in class. Thank you! Mrs Schmulian
LOWER SPECTRUM is usually associated with a lack of basic social skills, occasionally including fear of socialising, while the child’s intelligence is often well above the average.
My passion for working with young children, age 6-11 years, stems from my desire to help as many of them as possible to break out of the box. I am able to help them build up their confidence, expand their knowledge and increase their self-esteem, while also encouraging their parents.
Children call me Mimi, which is short for Mirjana, (Meer-YAH-nah).

My son has made fantastic progress in all areas since working with Mimi. He has a wonderful relationship with her and looks forward to her lessons every week. I thought my 8yrs old son was in a good reading level at school, but I found out he was stuck in a low level for his age. Mimi was brilliant & resourceful, he responded really well to her one 2 one teaching & within a short period he was able to move smoothly to higher level until he was able to read chapter books in few months & he became more confident & happier in English reading& comprehension. We were really greatful to Mimi & we highly recommend her to anyone who needs a helping hand from an expert with passion. M.A.
I was looking for a for someone who can work with my daughter using different methods of teaching as I noticed that she was a visual learner. She also needed repetition to help her retain the information that was learned, as well as someone who can help equip my daughter with the right tools and techniques to help her study. Mimi was the right person for the job. She made my daughter feel comfortable and eager to learn. Her creativity and passion reflected on her work. As a result, my daughter made a noticeable improvement. H.M.A.
